Comments moderation Enterprise Grid

Comments moderation allows workspace and project admins to hide inappropriate comments from view. Hidden comments are archived but not deleted, they can be unhidden at any time.

Hide a comment

You can hide comments on any work item, project page, workspace page, teamspace, or initiative.

1. Locate the comment you want to moderate.
2. Hover over the comment to reveal the comment actions menu.
3. Click the three-dot menu (⋯) button.
4. From the menu, click Hide comment.
5. A modal dialog appears asking you to select a reason.
6. Click Hide.

The comment is now hidden from view.

What happens when a comment is hidden

For everyone viewing the work item

• The comment disappears from the comment thread
• A hidden comment banner appears in its place.

In the activity log

• An activity entry records who hid the comment and when
• The hide reason is recorded

The comment is never deleted

• The original comment text is preserved in the database
• The comment author still sees their own comment (marked as hidden)
• The comment can be unhidden at any time

Viewing a hidden comment

When a comment is hidden, everyone (including the comment author) sees a banner instead of the comment text.

To temporarily view the hidden comment:

1. Click Show on the hidden comment banner
2. The comment expands to show the full text
3. Click Hide to collapse it again

Unhiding a comment

1. Locate the hidden comment banner.
2. Hover over the banner to reveal options.
3. Click the three-dot menu (⋯).
4. From the menu, click Unhide comment.
5. The comment reappears in the thread.
6. An activity entry records who unhid it and when.

Hidden comments in replies

Comments can have nested replies. If you hide a comment:

• The entire comment and all its replies are hidden together
• Unhiding shows the comment and all original replies

Replies can also be hidden individually using the same process.

Hidden comments in activity logs

Activity logs record all moderation actions.

These are visible in the work item's activity timeline and audit logs.

Comments on work items can be hidden using the standard process. Hidden comments are collapsed in the discussion thread.

Project pages

Pages within a project support comments and comment moderation.

Wiki pages

Workspace-level pages support comments that can be moderated.

Teamspaces

Teamspace-level discussions support comment moderation.

Initiatives

Initiative discussions support comment moderation.

Public shared links

When a work item is shared publicly, comments are visible. Moderation still applies.

Access:

• Only logged-in workspace admins can hide comments
• Hidden comments do not appear on the public link
• Viewers of the public link see the hidden comment banner
