Page labels Business

Page labels tag pages so you can group and find them, for example everything tagged runbook or RFC. A label has a name and a color, and a page can have as many labels as you like.

Labels belong to the workspace. The same list is available on project pages, wiki pages, and teamspace pages. Page labels are separate from work item labels.

Add labels to a page

You can add labels from three places:

• The page's Info tab in the side panel. Click Add label.
• The labels area on the page's row in a page list.
• The Labels column when you view a collection.

Search for a label and select it. To remove one, click the x on it.

Create a label while tagging

If the label you want doesn't exist yet, type its name and choose Create "<name>". Plane creates the label with a random color and adds it to the page. You need permission to create page labels for this option to appear. By default that's workspace Owners and Admins.

Who can change a page's labels

• Project and teamspace pages. Anyone who can edit the page.
• Wiki pages. The page owner and workspace Admins.

Nobody can change the labels on a locked or archived page.

Filter pages by label

Open Filters in a page list or collection view and pick one or more labels. The list shows pages that have any of the selected labels.

Manage the label list

Workspace Admins manage the label list in Workspace settings › Wiki, under the page labels section.

• Add label creates a label with a name and color.
• Use a label's menu to edit its name or color, or Delete label.

Label names are unique within a workspace. Deleting a label removes it from every page that has it. The pages themselves aren't affected.
