Publish projects
Any project you build in Plane can be turned into a public page, creating a fully navigable website. This makes it easy for your users and customers to see your latest features or when bug fixes roll out, with no sign-up required.
How to publish a project
Only project admins can publish a project in Plane. Here's how:
- Open your Plane workspace and navigate to the project you want to publish.
- Click the ellipsis ... icon next to the project name to open the project menu.
- Select Publish project. The Publish project dialog opens.
- Under Views, select the layouts to publish. You need at least one.
- Turn on Allow comments, Allow reactions and Allow voting as you need them. All three start off.
- Click Publish.
The dialog now shows the public link with a Copy link button and the line "This project is now live on web". Click the open icon to view the published page in a new tab.
The dialog's footer reminds you: "Anyone with the link can access". The link has the shape https://<host>/<space path>/issues/<anchor>, where the anchor is unique to the published project.
Publish project appears in the menu only for projects you're a member of and that aren't archived.

Layout options
Choose which layouts viewers get. List and Board are always available. Table, Calendar and Timeline are available when your workspace has them. Turn on more than one to give viewers more flexibility. If you clear every layout, Plane keeps List on, and if you try to publish with none selected it says "Please select at least one view layout to publish the project."

Commenting options
When Allow comments is on, users can sign up on the public board and add comments to work items, which is ideal for gathering feedback and showing progress.

Upvotes and downvotes
When Allow voting is on, users can upvote or downvote any work item on the deployed board. This helps project managers or owners prioritize which work items need attention.
Work item reactions
When Allow reactions is on, users can react to work items on the public board using predefined emoticons. This provides a quick way for team members and the public to express their sentiments about specific work items, aiding in gauging overall opinion and urgency.
Free domain hosting
You can host your public board on a free domain, making it accessible for anyone to check out your project. No additional setup or domain registration is required. Choose this option during the publishing process, and your public board will be accessible via the free domain.
Change publish settings
- Open the project menu and select Publish project.
- Change the layouts or switches.
- Click Update settings.
The button appears only once you've changed something. Plane shows "Publish settings updated successfully!"
Unpublish a project
- Open the project menu and select Publish project.
- Click Unpublish.
- In the Unpublish project dialog, click Unpublish.
The dialog warns: "This takes the published page offline. Anyone with the link will no longer be able to view this project." After that, the link stops working for everyone.
